Overview

EVERY DAY MORE THAN 690 MILLION PEOPLE AROUND THE WORLD GO TO SLEEP WITHOUT EATING AND 1 IN 3 SUFFER FROM MALNUTRITION.

As Alsalam Charity Foundation, we are deeply committed to ensuring that no one has to endure hunger or malnutrition. The issue of food insecurity, which has worsened due to the global pandemic, has extensive effects that hinder people’s opportunities, aspirations, relationships, and overall quality of life.

Ending world hunger will lead to improved health, education, and economic outcomes. Therefore, we collaborate with vulnerable communities through two key approaches: first, by creating comprehensive and sustainable solutions, and second, by providing essential supplies to address their immediate and ongoing needs.

Our aims

It’s our goal to eliminate hunger and malnutrition. To play our part, we aim to:

PREVIOUS WORK

Our regular food parcels provide food security to people in different areas of Uganda and beyond

Designed to support a family of five for roughly a month, our food parcels include vital staples such as rice, flour, sugar, oil, chickpeas, and lentils—items that have a long shelf life and provide essential carbohydrates and proteins. These parcels help ease the burden of food insecurity, allowing recipients to focus on bettering their lives without the constant worry of hunger.

CASE STUDY

Alsalam Qurbani

Through our Qurbani project, we’ve enabled thousands of families to take part in the festivities during the month of Dhul Hijjah. We carefully select mature, well-cared-for animals from local farmers who adhere to strict ethical standards. The meat is then distributed to families for Eid-al-Adha, providing them with a vital source of protein and nutrition that can sustain them for weeks.
